Tesla will build the world’s largest supercharging station in Florida, providing more than 200 charging piles

Tesla plans to build a super charging station in Florida, USA, with more than 200 charging piles, which will become the largest super charging station in the world.

The Supercharger station will be located in Yeehaw Junction, near Parcel 3010, State Road 60, near Florida, according to a site plan submitted by Tesla during a pre-application meeting with Osceola County last month. Interchange of Turnpike Exit 193 and Interstate 95.

The plan, which is still in its preliminary stages, shows the station will include about 160 V3 Superchargers and 40 independent chargers, including eight drive-through bays for trailers. According to Tesla enthusiast MarcoRPi1, the project will be constructed in three phases and charging piles will be opened for use.

GPD Group Inc. is responsible for construction of the project, and the site plan also includes up to four megawatt battery energy storage units (Megapack), which may be located near electrical distribution cabinets, according to the documents.

In February, Tesla also submitted plans to build a 164-charge Supercharger station in Kern County, California, which would be larger than any Supercharger station currently in operation. Some of the larger Superchargers currently operated by Tesla include the Harris Ranch Supercharger in Coalinga, California (with 98 chargers) and Quartzsite, Arizona (with 84 chargers).

Tesla is now beginning to open up access to Supercharging stations to other electric vehicle brands. Last month, Tesla announced its charging stations were open to electric vehicles from Ford and Rivian. Electric vehicles from General Motors, Polestar and parent Volvo are also expected to be able to use Tesla’s Supercharger network in the future.

It was also noted that Tesla is building a Supercharger station with a unique design concept in Los Angeles, California, which will include a 1950s-style drive-in restaurant, a dual-screen outdoor theater and approximately 32 charging piles.
